HALF MARATHON & 10 MILER START - Sunset Park, Coronado
Directions are for athlete drop off only. There is NO parking at the start. Take 1-5 south to Hwy 75/Coronado Bridge (Proposed Exit 14A). Go west across the bridge to Orange Ave. Turn left on Orange Ave. Turn right on 10th St. Go 4 blocks and turn left on G Ave. This will take you to Ocean Blvd. This will take you to Ocean Blvd. The start is 4 blocks to the right. There is NO parking at Sunset Park and along Ocean Blvd.
5K START - Imperial Beach Pier Plaza
Take 1-5 south to Hwy 75/Palm Ave (Exit 5A). Go west on Palm Ave. Continue on Palm by turning left one block past Ninth St. Continue west on Palm to 2nd St. Turn left on 2nd St. and go south six blocks to Evergreen Ave. Find street parking. Walk one block to the Imperial Beach Pier Plaza on Seacoast Dr.
Half Marathon/10 Miler distance ONLY
Best, Fastest and Surest Way to the start of the Half Marathon & 10 Miler - Have a friend or family member drop you off near the start line at the intersection of Ocean Blvd. and Marina Ave. between 6:00 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. They can drive to the finish area near the Imperial Beach Pier, park in the residential area and meet you at the finish line. NO 5K'ers will be bused to Imperial Beach where the 5K starts.
Taking Your Car (HALF MARATHON/10 MILE ONLY!)
Option 1: For those who paid for Option 1 during registration, the bus shuttle service from Silver Strand State Beach to the start area goes from 5:30 a.m. until 6:45 a.m. There will be approximately 750 parking spaces available. This option must be purchased for each person getting on the bus. There is overflow parking at the Coronado Cays. Carpool, if possible. Shuttles will return you to the parking lot after the race. NO 5K'ers WILL BE BUSED TO IMPERIAL BEACH. NO SPECTATORS will be bused to the start area. Do not wait until the last moment. Late-comers are not guaranteed a shuttle to the start line.
Option 2: For those who selected Option 2 during registration, there will be bus shuttle service from the Imperial Beach Pier to the start for the pre-registered 200 participants, only. This option will need to be selected for each person getting on the bus. If you have more than one person in your car, they must chose this option or they will not be guaranteed a spot on the bus. First come, first serve. The buses will be staged the IB Pier area at Reama Park on 2nd St in between Elder Ave and Elkwood Ave departing at 5:45 a.m. for the first 150, and 6:30 a.m. for the second 50. Do not plan on taking the 6:30 a.m. departure, or you may be left behind.
For those in Coronado, there is limited parking (appx. 200 spaces) for the 1st 200 cars at the Coronado City Hall at Hwy 75 and Strand Way. It is about 1 mile from the starting line. There will be a bus shuttle passing the area after 6:15 a.m. Or, you can warm up by jogging to the start line.
If you arrive late:
Park your car in the residential area near the start area. There will be limited bus service from the finish back to the start after the race.
Return Bus Shuttles: Bus shuttles will return to Silver Strand State Beach and Coronado from 8:45 a.m. through 11:30am. Be sure to catch an early one. The last bus departs at 11:45 AM.
